Sorry for the lack of posts these past few weeks. It's crazy just how much our lives change in the Wintertime. Last winter we hibernated (i.e. barely talked to anyone) for those long cold months; this year we've made it a point to hang out with our friends as much as possible. Tyler and Binky have both traveled from afar to stay with us, and we've been out-and-about rekindling old friendships as much as possible. The downside for all you folks out there in Cyberland is that we've had zero time to edit footage or post about our adventures.
Here's another Q&A Session, composed of questions you've asked us.
So this time it's my turn to give an Autobiography to accompany the video. Where to start...? My name is Garet, though most of my friends call me Grt (pronounce it how you will) or Gusty and Durret when my better half is in the room. :) I've been camping for as long as I can remember, with just a few short interludes for my teen years and College.
As a kid, my family frequented various camping, fishing, and hunting areas throughout Wisconsin. At the age of 10, we uprooted an relocated to southern Idaho. Its no secret to my family just how much I hated moving progressively deeper into the country and further from my friends and the city. Little did I know how profound and positive an impact this would have on my life.
Once I was out of the house, I fought wildland fire to make some extra cash from my senior year of High School to my senior year of College. Between that and my time on a wilderness fisheries field crew, I've gathered countless hours of wildnerness survival training. I recieved a B.A. in Biology from Albertson College; whereupon graduating I took a permanent lab support position with a biopharmacutical company in downtown Seattle. I've been living here for the past 5 years, soaking up as much of the Pacific Northwest's beauty as possible.
