A week ago the weather report called for a storm that could potentially
cripple Seattle. Before the first flakes fell, the term 'Snowpocolypse
2008' had already been coined. The first few days brought snow and
eventually icy conditions, but nothing to panic over. THEN...
At least a foot of snow fell over the course of a couple days.
We
decided if we had to be stuck somewhere, might as well pick a place
with plenty of survival gear... or at the very least a Hot Tub!
Matt and Ian (not pictured here) offered to let us stay at their place to ride out the storm. Thanks Guys!
We only had to venture from the house once, to get breakfast. Mmm... breakfast beer.
And Mimosas!
Jesse cleaned house while we got food. Then when we returned, he cooked a Lovely breakfast for everyone. What a sweetie.
The snow has fallen spuradically over the past couple days. Looks like we'll definitely have a White Christmas - something Seattle hasn't seen in a very long time! Happy Holidays Everyone!
Well first off thanks to everyone who sent questions for this project. We got a lot of feedback and hope that we answered all your questions. Also we'd like to thank the people who sent us donations this past year, we appreciate everyone's support through comments on our blog, but the donations really help keep the adventures coming. So thank you, thank you, thank you.
This is the first part of the ScenicBoys Q&A session. Since we have two parts to the video, we thought it would be fun to also blog about each of us with a short biography and a few pictures from our childhood. Garet is making breakfast so I guess I'm going first.
My name is Dustin, but I feel Dusty suits me better, it's a bit more spunky. I was born June 11th, 1981 in southwest North Dakota. It's not everyday you get to meet someone from NoDak, because there aren't very many of us who leave. Thankfully my parents decided to get my brother and I out of there and we moved to central Washington. I was raised on a ranch, where we always had lots of animals and lots of chores. My dad was very involved in the local rodeo scene and thus I participated in Junior Rodeos across the state.
During my High School years I was in 4-H which is a youth farmer organization where we raised animals for fitting and showing. It was a great learning experience and I really enjoy working with animals so I really didn't mind having to go out at 5am to feed my steers, sheep and pigs. Another fun ranch hand aspect of my childhood is cattle drives. My dad and I helped a local ranch round up cattle in the forests around my home town. This would sometimes be an over night adventure and I gotta say camping with horses is more work, but you really feel like you are an old west cowboy in the middle of the untamed wilds.
So that was a little bit about my up bringing and maybe an incite on ScenicBoy Dusty. Here is a quick list of some of the classic favorite questions that we also got asked.
