Mt Rainier video

On a clear day Mt Rainier can be seen from almost everywhere through the western 2/3 of Washington. From 90 miles away, in Seattle, this volcano looks ginormus, and from up close the magnitude of its beauty is even greater. It was a sunny August afternoon when Garet and I took our buddies George, Kyler, and Will to Mt Rainer National Park. The five of us had a rowdy time exploring wilderness behind our camp, jumping over logs, climbing dirt walls, eating huckleberries, and gallivanting in a waterfall we discovered.

Mt Hood, Oregon

My gift to Dusty this Yule was a weekend trip to Bonneville Hot Springs Resort & Spa.  We had our very own mineral springs hot tub on the balcony of our suite.  The spa baths were incredibly relaxing - we each had private claw-foot tub for a 30-minute soak, followed by a full body wrap.  Heaven!

The next day we went snowshoeing around Mt. Hood.  A little ways up Tom, Dick & Harry Mountain we realized we didn't bring proper clothing for this adventure - it was our first time out!  Dusty was brave enough to unstrap his snowshoes for me to grab a few shots.  Worth the frostbite, right?!

I can tell you these were fleeting moments.  I had 7 layers on and was still shivering.  He's WAY braver than me!  Ahh.. the sacrifices we make in the name of art. ;)   

Vancouver B.C.

Mid December, Mama Jess and Will convinced us to join them for a weekend of shenanigans up in Vancouver B.C.  Despine it being cold and cloudy, I was excited to visit Wreck Beach!

Bet you can't tell how freezing it is.   I'm excited to visit again this summer! :)  We hear it's a pretty popular (clothing optional) beach.

Point Defiance Zoo

We had MLKJr. Day off (score!) and on account of the awesome weather, decided to drive down to Point Defiance Zoo.  We saw these two hanging out in the aquarium.

Dusty: "They're like us!  They spend all there time together... rubbing on one another."

California Road Trip Video - Part 2

On July 7th we said our good-byes to Binky and made our way to Yosemite National Park.  We made good time arriving later that afternoon.  There was so much to see and do, but we had to get to our trailhead and hike 6 miles to Chillchualna Falls before dark.  A VERY cute park ranger (so wish we had got him on film) told us we would be the only ones up in the area.  He was right and we felt so fortunate to have the whole falls to ourselves... to do what we love doing!  ENJOY!
