After spending two wonderful days in San Francisco, Garet and I continued on our road trip 200 miles east to Yosemite National Park. The desert drive leaving the cities was kinda cool, full of orchards, fruit stands, and the foot hills leading up to the park were amazingly beautiful.
When we finely reached the ranger station it was in the upper 90s and we were excited to see the extraordinary scenery we've heard so much about. Holy Shit! The first view we got was so spectacular and huge that we had to stop and take it all in. Needless to say we got naked enjoyed our new back drop.
Before we left Seattle we had already picked out our hike in the southern Wawona village. Chillnualna Falls is a series of waterfalls ranging from 30 -300ft making the total drop 695ft. We hit the trail head for Chillnualna Fall at 6pm and began our 2 hour hike up the mountain. One of the first things we saw on the hike was story book swimming hole complete with water fall and little trout.
About half way up the mountain we heard a big rustling around 20ft beside us and to our surprise it was a little bear. Our intrigue out weighed our initial fear and we watched this cub watch us then shuffled his big butt away. One of the coolest things of the entire trip.
Dusk was coming fast when we got to the Falls at 6500ft. We set up camp and had dinner going by dark then played around the fire, watched the stars come out and made love under the moonlight. :)
The next morning we were up early and started our hike out. But not before showering under a waterfall and a great time playing naked in the pools carved in the granite mountain top. We messed around for two hours till we decided to start the hike back down.
It was 112 degrees as we drove through The Yosemite Valley and got to be extremely crowded. We were lucky to have only seen 2 people on our entire hike. Heading out of the park we both agreed it was the most exciting and rewarding hike we're ventured on.
